Laser Hair Removal

Re Salon and Med Spa uses the Sciton Laser for all hair removal services. The Sciton system consists of an array of advanced technology components, the Sciton Profile system allows us to provide a wider range of laser treatments than ever before.

Q&A with Re Med Spa:

What happens during hair removal treatment?
Our laser hair removal treatments begin with a consultation with our P.A. The area of your skin that is to be treated will be scanned with laser light from the Profile system. Treatment time will depend upon the area to be treated. A system for cooling your skin will be used to remove heat as it leaves the hair follicles and should ensure a comfortable laser hair removal treatment.
How does it work?
The ClearScan laser selectively targets your hair follicles and heats them with infra-red energy. Unlike other processes the laser beam treats many hairs at once making treatment of large areas practical. The Profile employs a unique computer guided scanning system that automates the treatment, ensuring that you skin is rapidly and evenly treated. The computer sets the parameters and places the beam in an optimum pattern for your skin. You will have a safe, fast, effective, and gentle hair removal treatment.
What should I expect after treatment?
Some redness and slight swelling may be present in the area that has been treated; however, this should subside within a few hours. If any prolonged redness or swelling occurs please contact Re Salon and Med Spa. Keep the area clean and use at least SPF 30 sunscreen when outdoors.
Is treatment permanent?
On average, each laser treatment will be associated with some permanent hair loss. So in most cases hair removal can only be achieved after several treatments. The number of treatments will depend on each patient’s individual response to laser therapy, and the amount of hair to be removed. Remember that the goal may not be total hair removal. Many patients are happy with a reasonable degree of hair reduction. Also remember that the hair that remains is often lighter in color and thinner than the original hair prior to laser therapy. As with other treatments for unwanted hair, there is no guarantee that laser hair removal treatment will be permanent.
How many hair removal treatments will I need?
You may need to be treated about 5 to 7 times at approximately 6 to 10 week intervals. Re Salon and Med Spa offers a series of laser treatments to maintain consistency.
What will I look like immediately afterwards?
Generally, some redness will remain for approximately five to seven days. For some patients recovery time will be less while other patients will have prolonged redness.

*Be sure to shave before your laser hair removal treatment

Skin Tyte

What is Skin Tyte?

SkinTyte by Sciton, is a non-invasive treatment for tightening your skin without resurfacing. This innovative new technology is applied selectively as the deep thermal energy results in collagen remodeling and contraction.

SkinTyte utilizes infrared energy to deeply heat dermal collagen while protecting the entire treated area with sapphire contact cooling. This process promotes contraction of the collagen, initiating the body’s natural healing process. Following treatment, a new foundation of collagen is created leading to increased skin firmness.

Photo Rejuvenation + Sciton Broadband Light (BBL)

The Sciton BBL (Broadband Light source) is the most versatile intense pulsed light system available. Used to treat sun-damaged skin, age spots and redness, the Sciton BBL features pulsed light to target and rejuvenate sun-damaged and/or aging skin. The treatment is non-invasive and requires little to no downtime.

How does BBL work?
The light energy delivered by the BBL will gently heat up the upper layers of the skin. The heat is absorbed by the targeted areas to stimulate the skin cells to generate new collagen. This helps to rejuvenate skin, blending color and texture and making it smoother, vibrant and younger looking.
How many treatments will I need?
From 2-5 treatments, at 2-4 week interval, produce the desired results. You may require additional treatments depending on the severity of your condition.

Acne Treatment

Many of us have been battling acne by using the typical creams and ointments, but now there is an innovative technology that can leave your skin looking clearer and smoother in just a few short weeks. Acne is a condition that causes inflammation of the skin in the form of clogged pores, pimples, cysts, blackheads and whiteheads. Severe acne can lead to scarring. This new BBL Pulsed Light Technology can be used to improve the appearance of acne scars as well. The BBL Pulsed Light Technology produced from the Sciton Laser dramatically improves skin condition and gives you back the clear complexion you have been striving for.

Q&A with Re Med Spa:

How Does the Sciton Laser Work?
The Sciton BBL Pulsed Light Treatment destroys acne by heating the sebaceous glands found in the dermis (the upper layers) of the skin, which reduces oil production, which in turn reduces the active acne. This takes place over the course of repeated treatments within 2-4 weeks. This BBL treatment is a controlled pulse given in a high-speed uniform manner with integrated contact cooling; the result of controlling the skin’s surface temperature is for maximum patient comfort. Acne scarring can also be treated by Microlaser Peel and Pro-fractional®. These skin resurfacing technique help to remove the damaged skin layers and allow new healthier skin to emerge.
How many treatments are usually needed?
Studies have shown that for many patients the results for acne reduction can be seen in 4-6 treatments. Most patients receive two treatments per week until their acne clears up. However for most patients six treatments are recommended for optimal results. These results should last about 3 months. During your initial consultation options for treatments will be discussed to determine the best course of action for achieving your specific goals. You will also discuss your treatment schedule and what results you can expect.
What is a treatment session like?
When you arrive for your acne treatment you will need to put safety goggles or glasses on to protect your eyes. As your doctor begins the procedure you may notice a warming sensation on your skin, many patients describe a snapping sensation very similar to a rubber band snap. This happens as the pulsed light energy is absorbed into the specific treatment areas. The treatment session will take between 15 and 30 minutes. The length of your procedure will depend on the size of the area being treated, the type of procedure, and how deep the pulsed light needs to penetrate.
What should I expect following a treatment session?
Most patients experience redness following an acne treatment. This will fade within a few hours. Results will vary depending on the type of condition being treated. Your provider will give you more detailed information about what to expect following a treatment session.Because this type of acne therapy is gentle and non-invasive there is little to no downtime and you will be able to continue with your day without missing a step.
What after care is required following an acne treatment?
Your provider will detail your after care requirements before beginning your treatments. You may be instructed to use certain skin care products to help minimize any inflammation or redness, as well as to shorten healing time. Your doctor will also provide instructions on how to use any products given. It is important to remember that your skin will be sensitive to ultra-violet light so you need to avoid direct sunlight until you heal completely. It is also recommended that you use a sunscreen whenever you are in direct sun.
